Our Approach
We believe that organizations can pursue both humanity and performance with rigour and courage. By intentionally building and aligning compelling strategy, connected culture, and courageous leadership, organizations can achieve incredible impact and success.
Ambitious goals are only accomplished through people. Therefore they must be human-centered: strategy needs to happen through the people who will make it happen. Organizations with positive culture and thriving teams achieve stronger financial performance, innovation, and productivity as well as higher employee engagement, attraction, and retention.
Compelling Strategy:
Analyze with vision. Decide with intention. Execute with excellence.
A compelling strategy involves thinking critically about the situation that the organization is facing, deciding intentionally what the organization will (and will not) focus on, and then executing with exceptional drive to achieve goals. Strategy “comes to life” when it is implemented daily by the people in the organization – through courageous leadership and a connected culture.
Connected Culture:
Define behaviours. Embolden dialogue. Bolster trust.
A connected culture ensures that strong relationships are formed to create high-performing teams and organizations. Leaders are intentional to build connected cultures by articulating specific behaviors that live out the organization’s values, by bolstering trust between team members, and by emboldening dialogue (building up skills and processes to have difficult, brave conversations that unlock problem-solving and innovation and increase humanity in the workplace).
Courageous Leadership:
Embody values. Maximize strengths. Humanize work.
Courageous leadership means that Boards, Executives, and employees are brave and bold to achieve great things together while recognizing the humanity in their workforce. This often begins by identifying and practicing their personal values and the organization’s values. Courageous leadership also involves maximizing each person’s strengths that they bring to the organization and amplifying what the organization does best in the marketplace. Courageous leaders humanize their work – they recognize that each staff member is a whole human with talents, weaknesses, emotions, families, hobbies, and life challenges. They strive to make it possible for staff to be more of their authentic self at work and contribute their diverse ideas which elevates the organization as well as the individual. And they do the important, challenging work to advance equity in the workplace.
